Note: In the 1841 census George is aged 5 and living with his parents and siblings in Tyrie.
In the 1881 census George is a shop keep and living above the shop with his wife and family. There is also a servant.
In 1890 John had to register the death of his 3 day old son George and his wife within 4 days of each other.
In the 1891 census George is a widower living as a farmer and is aged 47 years. His son John is still living with him aged 13.
