I have uncle Vic’s Army records and his medals.
I also have copies of some of his letters he wrote home describing the war and how he had a few lucky escapes.
I also have a copy of A book "Nothing is Forever" (The history of his unit) No: 2 Independent commando company, that describes in detail all of the things they went through. It even describes the battle when he was killed. It was a night ambush and he got shot in the leg, because they couldn’t get out he bled to death overnight.
He is buried in LAE War Cemetary & on an honour roll on the War Memorial in Canberra.
