There is no evidence in the reports to uphold a family story that she was pregnant. The note she left behind would indicate she was not pregant. She was born on 20 May 1890 at Cowarr, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. She was the daughter of Charles Riley and Johanna Doyne.
