a. Note:   The following notes were written by Jean R Smith in 1996.
 
 Florence was four years old when her mother died and was reared by Mrs. Piera. I knew her as "Aunt Peg" and most people called her "Peggy" when I knew her. Story goes she went to work as a domestic servant for "Herbert Biddle" who had a farm outside Apollo Bay. She married him in 1915, she was sixteen and he was forty one. They had quite a few children some of which did not survive. I remember her as always laughing and having a joke. She died at home on 31 May 1961.
