Notes
a. Note:   Source below: Susan Fuss
  Alonzo F. Mason
Born 8 May 1853 Woonsocket, RI
Died 7 July 1908 hospital in Boston, MA (of liver/stomach cancer). Probably resided in Plymouth, MA was always a tradesman (mechanic, boot maker, rope maker - Foreman Rope Works on Death Certificate)
Married 17 Dec 1882 to Helen Munro (recorded as Ella Monroe on marriage registry)
Ages listed - Alonzo at 30 and Helen at 22 Helen Munro
Born Jun 1860 Nova Scotia, Canada (probably Annapolis township)
Died 16 Aug 1917 in Westminster, VT (probably living with her sister, Bessie Munro Ormsby, after Alonzo died)
Elizabeth Josephine Mason, Daughter and only child
Born 29 Sep 1883 Douglas, MA. No birth certificate, but an Affidavit of Birth filed in Plymouth, MA in 1929, with Ellen Josephine Mason Lincoln as withness.
Died 08 Jan 1950 hospital in Malden, MA. Resided at the Puritan Hotel apartments, 390 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA
Married 28 Apr 1925 George Thayer Lane. Elizabeth was 41. This was her 1st marriage. George was 49, widower with 5 children.
George Lane was my grandfather. Elizabeth Mason Lane was my step grandmother. She did not adopt the Lane children, which leads to an interesting story as she died Intestate - hence my interest in the Mason's as next of kin.
Sources are Ancestry.com Census Reports and Mass Vital Records, which you can get from NEHGS on line if you are a member - or go there on Newbury Street in Boston. The Mass Vital Records offices at Columbia Point and Dorchester have this information also.
Exception: I can find very little on Helen Munro -- she pre-dates the Canadian birth records, but does show up on the 1900 US Census. No luck with the 1910 census -- there must be an enumerator's spelling error or some other weird situation. But, the death certificate for Alonzo indicates he was buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Dorchester. I called the cemetery and they confirmed Alonzo is buried there, as is his wife, Helen Mason. They gave me Helen's death date of 16 Aug 1917.
