Harvey is the maternal grandfather of your author, Hank Rogers.

Harvey and Louise met at a singing at The Penton Church of God in Penton, AL. A 'singing' was basically a church concert, with special guest singers.
Harvey's family was from White Plains, just east of Penton, and was a very musical family, traveling around and singing for various churches. The Sharp's were related to half the congregation of PCOG.
Louises' mother was one of the founders of Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett, and both Louise and her mother were very involved in church activities, thus prompting the trip to Penton.

Harvey was a rebellious boy, but stayed within his limits. His father 'whipped' him one time and never had to do it again, for cusing a mule. Back then it was called being 'taken out to the woodshed.'

In his 60's he was diagnosed with Lukemia. He battled it and was declared cancer free. I wonder if this came from his Tomlinson side?

Betty was married before Harvey, to a Mr. Wofford. She had several children from her 1st marriage.
