Notes
a. Note:   "At this time Papa had a job at the flour mill as engineer...Then in July 1909 I went with Mrs. McCoy as a helper in thecook-shack with the threshing crew. I was at home on a Sundayand borrowed Brother Albert's little round mirror. He had beenat the mill, helping Papa push the railroad cars; he slipped andbumped his knee on the rail. When I saw him he asked for hislooking glass. I promised to bring it back. He was a bitfeverish. Then on Tuesday my parents sent for me to come home, when I got there he knew me for just a moment, asked for hislooking glass and I gave it to him. Dr. Thompson called Dr.Mayberry of Enid to come help him. They operated on his leg butit was so gangrenous and at 9:00 PM he passed away. Papa was sobroken hearted over losing both his sons he did not want to staythere. We had the funeral and that was in the North EnidMennonite Brethren Church and the burial in that churchcemetery."
