  Frm an email rec'd 3/5/09:
Roy and I were married in Ketchikan, Alaska in the fall of 1952. April 5th, 1953 we had a son that Roy named Robert Lee Winstead. Roy and I parted ways and lost contact. I married my husband in Aug, 1955 and he raised Robert as his son. We had 2 other children. Son in 1956 and a daughter in 1958. My husband and I are still married. I felt very bad to read that Roy died at such a young age. Maybe you can let me know what he died from? Robert, our son has 8 children and 7 grandchildren. He had a daughter and twin sons with his first wife. Then he had a son and a daughter with a live in girlfriend. Then he married again and had 2 daughters and a son with her. I can give you more info later if you want to hear more.
I hope to hear from you

FROM A FOLLOWUP EMAIL ON 3/7/09:
Thank you again! No,I never did know any of Roy's family. I did keep in touch with his Mom for awhile. I remember your Mom sent a gift when Robert was born. My maiden name was Vevang. I was born in Trondheim, Norway and had only been in this country 2 years when Roy and I got to-gether. He was in the Coast guard then. One evening we were driving home in an awful rainstorm. These 2 girls came out of nowhere. No way for Roy not to hit them. The one girl was killed and Roy ended up in Steilacom, Washington...I saw him quite regularly while he was in prison. Saw him once after he got out, but I guess i didn't love him enough to go across the country with him... My mom and stepfather lived in Everett, Washington and Robert and I lived with them. I really don't know who Roy named Robert Lee after.
