Notes
a. Note:   His father was Albert Emil Bloss (b.Nov 9, 1896 in NY; d. Apr, 1965 in Niagara Falls, NY) A.E. Bloss moved to Niagara Falls about 1947 and retired from Hooker Chemical Co. (electrician). He had diabetes and died of kidney failure after a leg amputation. AEB's SS number was 106-16-0256. He was very good friends with the Washburns and visited them often, even after they moved to NC.
Jerry's biological mother was Eleanor Grace Sanford (later Mrs. John Bender). She was born June 29, 1905 in NY and died Jan 1971 in Albany, NY. Jerry was taken in and raised by the Washburns when he was a baby.
Jerry Bloss has written many letters describing numerous pictures and what it was like growing up with the Washburn family. These letters are part of another file in this book.
In 1910 Albert and his father were living at 147 Putman Ave, Brooklyn with Charles Waghorn.
In 1930 Albert was living at the Porter Mann boarding house at 8 Union St Schenectady. Washburns lived at this same house when they were first married in 1905.
In 1960, Albert was working in Niagara Falls, NY working for Hooker Chemical. He soon retired and rented a small upstairs apt. His close friends were Pat and Lester Alcorn (Pat was his regular waitress). When Albert E. Bloss died in 1965 from kidney failure after having his leg amputated (he had diabetes) the Alcorn family had him cremated and his ashes sat on the mantle for years. When Lester Alcorn died, they buried the urn of ashes with him.

A new data base of New York State birth records info by the Mormon church has the following which I think might be your family.
  It says:
Augst Emel Bloss was born March 6 1891in NYC to
  Herman Bloss
 And
 Annie Burckhardt Bloss
Of course it might be one of the children who did not live
Remember the 1900 Census says she had 7 pregancies and only one living child in 1900
But the key here is that Annie’s maiden name may be Burckhardt. That is key new info
