a. Note:   According to Henry James of Canada, (my 1st. cousin once removed) "Samuel Mowat married Agnes ?? in the United Kingdom. They had four children and came to Canada in 1823". Note that the last name was spelt "Mowat" according to an old Canadian Censes poll.
  He also wrote that Samuel and Agnes were born in Ireland as was their first son Henry J. (James?).
 He does not say where any of the other three children are born. However, if Henry was born in Ireland on Dec 9th 1823 and the family came to Canada in 1823, then they sailed that December! Therefore the other children must have been born in Canada.
  According to Monica Barreto, from info she had and the 1851 Census of St. David, NB, Canadanada; Samuel and Agnus came to NB (St David Parish), Canada from Ireland in 1823. They came with William (b. 1820 in Ireland) and Henry (b. 1821 in Ireland). The other siblings were all born in Canada,
