a. Note:   In the ME Marriage records 1892 - 1996 there is a:
  Ulyssess S Cunningham of Bucksport, ME who married a Agnes M. Bolduc of Bucksport, ME on 8/5/1911.
  I am going to assume this is the correct marrage but I am not sure which spellings are correct,
 Hgnes or Agnes and Ulysis or Ulyssess

  Emerline Gray is listed as Ulysses's mother on his marriage record. However, she was in actual fact his grandmother. I strongly believe that the mother of Ulysses is Harriet ("Hattie") Gray, the second wife of Anson Cunningham, who died Aug. 11, 1889 at 28 years of age. (Ells-Herald - Aug. 22, 1889) I feel that Anson wasn't in the position of being able to care for a newborn infant and prevailed upon his mother to raise Ulysses.
