A Memorial Service for Mrs. Ruth Barbara Partington, 98, of Anniston, formerly of Golden Gate, FL and Mansfield, MA, will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Faith Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Partington passed away on September 14, 2014 in Anniston.
Mrs. Partington was a native of Massachusetts. In Mansfield, MA, she served as a librarian, volunteered with the high school band as a band parent, and served in the First Christian Church. After her husband retired, they relocated to Golden Gate, FL. In Golden Gate, she was heavily involved in Golden Gate Presbyterian Church. She was a member of many civic and charitable organizations and received numerous awards and accolades for her dedicated service. Later in life, she spent time traveling and spending time with her children and their families in different parts of the country.
Mrs. Partington is preceded in death by her her husband of 69 years, Ralph Partington; parents, Andrew and Daisie Farley McIlquham; and a brother, Robert McIlquham.
Mrs. Partington is survived by her her daughters, Ruth DeLage and her husband, Francis, Joan Tartufo, and Lois Smigliani and her husband, Lamberto; her sons, Ralph Partington and his wife, Maria, Donnie Partington and his wife, Leslie, Alan Partington and his wife, Lois, Norman C. Partington, and Ronald Partington and his wife, Karin; 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Partington was loved and will be missed by her entire family. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
