Emily Partington Estero, FL
Emily 'Mimi' Partington, 100, of Estero, FL, died peacefully at home Thursday, September 4, 2014.
She was born November 18, 1913, in Wrentham, MA, to Alice and Lou Roby. She married Walter Partington on November 17, 1934.
She is survived by six grandchildren, Lynn (Tom) Robertson of Woodruff, SC, Laurie Benson of Greeneville, SC, Linda (Joel) Chambers of Fort Myers, FL, Lou Partington of Rockford, IL, Lisa (Bob) Bethke of Boiling Springs, SC; and Les (Karie) Partington of Estero, FL. She is also survived by ten greatgrandchildren, Rebecca Robertson, Robert Bethke, Steven Bethke, Roby Partington, Sean Nichols, Shannan Gottschalk, Mikel Partington, Randy Partington, Nick Wobrock and Evan Wobrock. She also leaves behind many beloved friends at Life Care Center of Estero, which has been her home for the past seven years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years; four siblings; and a great-grandson, Matthew Partington.
Emily and Walter built the seventh house in Golden Gate when they retired to Florida in the 1960s. She loved nature, was an avid reader and worked word puzzles up until the last few weeks of her life.
A celebration of Emily's life will take place (TODAY) at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at Hodges Funeral Home, 525 111th Ave. North, Naples, FL.
