Just a quick note to let you know that my husband, Richard Rock, died around 10 pm tonight at Sturdy Hospital of pneumonia. They had him on morphine to keep him comfortable when it was determined he was not going to beat the pneumonia this time.
He was 78 yrs old, would have turned 79 this coming November and had a long decent life until his stroke in 1999. I do not plan on having any mass or funeral services for him. We had decided years ago we both wanted to be cremated, no funeral services or big ceremonies, etc. His cremated ashes will go to the military burial grounds in Bourne, MA. We would rather be remembered 'as we were, for the good memories, and not have friends/families feel obligated to attend any services/traditions etc. after we passed'. On April 21st we celebrated 29 years of marriage. He had his severe stroke in June of 1999 after thirteen years of marriage.

PS: Dick has four daughters, Sandy (& Rick) Grenier, Sue Martel, and Lisa Myers in Florida and Darlene in Kentucky; plus 6 grandchildren and 6 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson (I believe in KY). He also enjoyed my son Mark Weatherby, daughter Dawn Schulz and five grandchildren. If addresses are wanted for his children, please contact me and I will do my best to provide information to you.
