Note: Elmer met Hertha at the Alpine dance hall located at 11th and Nebraska st. in Sioux City. This was a popular place among young people on Saturday night. In summer, they also had barn dances out in the country. Hay mow was cleaned out, they had live music, good crowds and lots of fun. When weather got chilly it was back to the Alpine. This was around 1936-1937-1938.
