  The following is an oral history that was given by Anthony Dixon. The year that this history was given should be 1912 he said that his mother was 78. She was born in 1832 so, 1912 should be a good date for this short Dixon family history.

 Rt. 3 Pipestone
 Born - St. Croix Co., WI - May 2, 1867.
 Married June 27, 1894 to Martha Arrowsmith - Pipestone daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Aron Arrowsmith.
 Mary aged - 12, Thomas aged - 11, Arthur aged - 8, Joseph aged - 6, Mark aged - 4, Laura aged - 2, William aged - 9 mos.
 Subject lived at place of birth for 12 yrs. moving with family to Pipestone, Minn. Subject has been engaged in farming all of his life, moving onto the present land when married. Been supervisor of Eden Twp., one year, member of M.U.A., member of St. Leo's Catholic Church at Pipestone.
 Father died at Pipestone April 21, 1893, aged about 65. Mother resides at Eden Twp., sec 14, and aged 78. Brothers - John Darby, Swift Co., Minn., Martin, Eden Twp. sec. 14; Sisters - Mrs. Ellen O'Connell, Ihlen, Kate Carney, Montana, Mrs. Mary Conly, Wahpeton, ND, Julia Arrowsmith, Hallan, Ana Dixon, at home.
 The reference here to Kate Carney is confirmation that this is Katherine Carney's family. In addition, Anna Dixon should be the Aunt Annie that Cora Hofto visited in Pipestone.
  A. J. Dixon lived in Merrill, IA at the time of James Arrowsmith's death on 9 March 1942.
  1900 Census shows Anthony, Martha Mary and Thomas in Pipestone county, Eden twp, page 2.
  1920 Census shows entire family, except Kate, living in Minnesota, Murray county, Iona Twp. ED#149.
