Note: [Thomas Dixon.FTW] The following is the Obituary for Catherine Dixon from the Pipestone Leader of January11, 1917 on page 1, Col. 1, paragraph 1: PIPESTONE COUNTY PIONEER CALLED TODAY Mrs. Catherine Dixon of Ihlen answers summons. Succumbed to pneumonia after two week's illness. Burial in Pipestone Catholic Cemetery. The death of Mrs. Catherine Dixon a pioneer women of this county occurred at her home near Ihlen early this morning. Mrs. Dixon had been seriously ill with pneumonia the past two weeks, and owing to her advanced age of over 80 years, little hope was held out for her recovery, and death was expected the past several days. She had been living with her children on the homestead farm, which she and her husband settled on, in the early 80's. It is not known as yet when the funeral will be held, the children living here having decided to wait until they hear from those at a distance as to the possibility of their being in attendance. It will probably be held the latter part of this week and the interment will be in the Catholic cemetery near this city. Mrs. Dixon is survived by eight children, three sons and five daughters: M. J. of Ihlen; A. J., of Slayton; D. J., of De Graff; Mrs. R. R. O'Connell, of this city; Mrs. Jas. Arrowsmith, of Holland; Mrs. J. W. Conley, of Wahpetan, N. D; Mrs. Jas.
