 Theophilus can be found in the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census.
 In the 1841 he is with his wife, Mary and Milburn.
 In the 1851 he is with all the above plus Robert L. and a Aunt named Jane Holmes and she was listed as a widow 75 years old and a Annutant.? It turns out Jane was Jane Holder who married Leonard Holmes in Bridlington 30 Aug 1818.
  In the 1861 he is with his wife. Bridlington Enum. Dist #11 Bempton Parish.
 In the records of Kilham, there is a birth record that lists Theophilus Simpson as the spurious son of Mary Stephenson, Spinster. It lists the birth as occuring in 1800 with no month or day listed.
 According to Peter Butler (a genealogist in Yorkshire) Theophilus had a tailor shop from 1840 - 1872 in Bempton.
 His death was found in the Bempton burial register.
 Theophilus was a churchwarden in Bempton.
 He and his wife are buried in the Bempton churchyard.A photograph of the gravestone is on file. They were married in Bridlington priory and the witness was Mary Holiday
