Note: ) Horner. He passed from this life on February 5, 2011 in Enid, Oklahoma at the age of 85. Gilberts family made their home in Seiling, Oklahoma. Gilbert attended school at Guy School through the 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Seiling High School. Gilbert joined the United States Army and proudly served his country from September 27, 1950 to September 5, 1952, achieving the rank of SGT. He was then transferred to the Enlisted Reserve Corps for the next five years. Gilbert was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Kenrick on July 31, 1954 in Medford, Oklahoma. Gilbert and Joyce lovingly welcomed the birth of their two daughters, Connie and Sue. The family made their home in Enid, Oklahoma where Gilbert worked for the City of Enid until 1958. He and his family then moved to Canton, Oklahoma where he worked for United States Gypsum Company until 1968. At this time, Gilbert moved his family back to Enid, Oklahoma where he worked for Groendyke Transport until retirement. The Horners eventually moved to Seiling, Oklahoma and enjoyed raising cattle and farming. In his spare time, Gilbert enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, reading and jigsaw puzzles. He was a devoted husband and father whose greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Joyce; parents, Earl and Lillie Horner; brothers, Herman Horner, Art Horner, Melvin Horner Ernest Horner and Jake Horner; sisters, Lena Liebert and Beulah Rose; 4 infant siblings, and granddaughter, Chelsea Jones. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters, Sue Staley of Kremlin, Oklahoma and Connie Bush and husband Terry of Edmond, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Breanna Jones and Bobby Easley and Lindsey Staley, all of Kremlin, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter Laila Easley of Kremlin, Oklahoma; great-grandson, Laker Easley of Kremlin, Oklahoma; other family and many dear friends.
