a. Note:   The Virginian Pilot, page B4, April 22, 1995 Waverly W. Jones Sr., 71, of the 1000 block of Norwich Ave., died on April 19, 1995, in his home.
  Born on December 5, 1923, in Isle of Wight County, Waverly Jones Sr. came to reside in the City of Norfolk, Virginia, at the age of nine. A minister for Tidewater Bibleway Temple in Portsmouth, Minister Waverly Jones Sr. received his degree in pharmacy from Howard University, Washington, D.C. After several retirements, Minister Jones last worked, prior to his homegoing, in the Pharmacy, Branch Clinic, at the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station.
  He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nellie E. Jones; his son, Waverly W. Jones Jr.; two daughters, WaNelle D. Anderson and Wanda J. McNair; his sister, Gloria C. Reid of Reisterstown, Md.; his son-in-law, Johnnie McNair; and two grandsons, Nigel W. Anderson and Evan C. McNair.
  The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Monday, April 24th at 11 a.m. at Tidewater Bibleway Temple, Portsmouth. Interment will follow the service at the Princess Anne Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Memorial viewing will be held at the church prior to the funeral service from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m.
