a. Note:   enter. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 38th & Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO; followed by burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Arthritis Foundation. Marjorie was born June 19, 1914, in Kansas City, MO, the eldest daughter of Claude S. and Julia Kubicki Ward. She had lived in this area all of her life. She was active in Daughters of Isabella, the St. Terese Little Flower Parish Altar Society and St. Mark's Parish. In 1942, Marjorie married H.F. "Frank" Stein, a marriage that was to endure for over 50 years until his death in 1998. Marjorie retired from the Kansas City, MO school district, where she had been the Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Licensed Practical Nurse's Program. She was a member of the National Association of Educational Secretaries. She loved baking for the St. Joseph's Table. She also enjoyed Canasta and Pinochle. After retirement, Marjorie volunteered for the American Red Cross and at St. Mary's Hospital. Marjorie was preceded in death by her brother, Claude Sterling Ward, II; her sisters, Julia Eileen Dwyer, Madeline Stanley-Cohen and Kathleen Michelsen. Marjorie leaves to mourn her death three children, son, John F. Stein and his wife, Diane and two daughters, Julia Lowery-Dove and her husband, James and Marjorie Ann Blasche and her husband, John; as well as eight grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, John Clifford Stein, Myron E. Stein, Chris Hatfield, Joshua A. Lowery, Michael J. Schmidt and Matthew Z. Dove.
