Note: t Garden Grove, Iowa and died April 23, at Republic County Hospital.
He was united in marriage to Mamie Avis Brazil March 26, 1912. To this union were born fourteen children.
He joined the Salvation Army in 1943. The family moved to Republic county in 1949 and has remained here except for a short interval.
He was preceded in death by : his wife; three children, Mildred at the age of 14, Homer who was killed in combat in the second World War, and Allen Wayne who died in infancy; three brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by: his children, Fannie Williams, Dewey Bates and Margaret Hoard of Belleville, Frank of Houston, Tex., Jack of Republic, Grant of Chillicothe, Mo., Helen Williams and Avis Hoard of Joplin, Mo., Martha Swartz of Madison, Mo., Capt. Bob Bates of Winfield, Walter of Fremont, Calif.; one sister, Adaline Cayot of Evergreen, Colo.; 38 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Storm from Tibbetts Bros Chapel, Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in Grace Hill cemetery.
