Note: , April 10, 1878 and passed away August 10, 1943 at the age of 65 years and 4 months. At an early age she moved with her parents to Nebraska, later to Kansas, settling in the Swabville neighborhood. On December 4, 1900 she was united in marriage to Walter R. Brown and to this union were born seven children, Russell and Joe of Valley Falls, Millard and Walter, Jr., of Topeka, Lester and Etha of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Kenneth Coons of Niles, Michigan. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and all the children; two sisters, Mrs. M.A. Wilson of Topeka and Mrs. J.W. Johnson of Merna, Nebraska; two brothers, W.H. Slusser of Enid, Okla., and J.L. Slusser of Fort Worth, Texas; also eleven grandchildren and a host of friends. She united with the Christian church at an early age and has always lived true to her faith. A devoted wife and mother, not only to her own but to any who needed her. Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church at Valley Falls on Friday afternoon, by Rev. B. D. Gillespie. Burial was in the Valley Falls cemetery.
