a. Note:   Teacher, iris grower. Truman Willard Lytle of Riesel, TX - devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away Thursday, June 4, 2009 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, June 12th at Lake Shore Funeral Home Chapel, at 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco, with Pastor Jim Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Thursday, June 11th at Lake Shore Funeral Home, 5201 Steinbeck Bend in Waco. Mr. Lytle will be available for viewing starting Thursday morning. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online Guest Book at www.LakeShoreFuneralHome.com. Truman was born October 23, 1912 in Filley, NE to Orba M. Lytle and Anna Grace (Winchell) Lytle. He grew up on a farm near Filley, NE and attended Cotner College in Lincoln. He taught high school in Vesta, NE two years before receiving his BS in Education at Peru State Teacher’s College. During his career, he also taught in Plattsmouth, Weeping Water, Sterling, Odell, and Chester, NE. After retirement from teaching, the family lived in Fairbury, NE where he pursued his hobby of growing iris. In 1986 the family moved to central TX where his wife Violet, and daughters Dawn, and Danelle taught in local schools. Preceding him in death were his beloved parents and two brothers, Wilbur of Tecumseh, NE and Lawrence of Helena, MT. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Violet (Fithian) Lytle, daughters Danelle Bell of Riesel, Dawn Holmes of Battle Lake, Denise and husband Sean Stephens of Tyler, six grandchildren: Cameron, Ryan and wife Sueanne, Spencer, Andrew, Joshua, Jenna, and two great grandchildren: CJ and Zachary, all of Texas. Pallbearers will be Cameron Warner, Ryan Miller, Spencer Holmes, Andrew Stephens, Joshua Stephens, Sean Stephens, and Honorary Pallbearers Ed Lytle, Tom Lytle, Steve Lytle, and Stuart Miller. The family is most grateful for the attentive and loving care provided by the many professionals from Vista Care Hospice, Hillcrest Hospital and Hospice, and personal friend/caregiver Stuart Miller.
