Note: g at about 8 o'clock. Sunday he appeared in his usual good health and retired at his accustomed hour, with apparently no thought of the impending end. All circumstances point to death from heart failure, but an inquest will be held at 10 o'clock this morning at the Schulte undertaking parlors to inquire more specifically into the cause of his demise. Deceased was born near Linden, Iowa, forty-six years ago and came with his parents, brothers and sisters to the Black Hills in 1884. The greater part of the time here has been devoted to mining, although he spent some years in the cattle business on the Powder river and was connected with the forest service for several years in the late nineties. His mining operations have been conducted for the most part in the Trojan district, but of late he had been working on one of the prospects recently opened up west of Deadwood. He was a man of quiet manner, strictly honest and held in high esteem by all who knew him. He is survived by four brothers and three sisters, his parents having died some years ago. The brothers are Joseph Lytle, editor of the Sundance Times, George and Thomas also of Sundance, and John of Forsythe, Mont. The sisters are Mrs. Croy of Hulett, Wyo., Mrs. M. L. Hulett who resides near Stanford, Mont., and Mrs. Julia Farris, who lives in Nebraska, His brother Joseph from Sundance arrived in Deadwood yesterday, accompanied by his father-in-law, Judge Nichols. The coroner's jury, after hearing the testimony of several witnesses, rendered a verdict that death resulted from natural causes, all circumstances pointing to heart failure. Funeral services were held at the Sundance Methodist church Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, and the remains were given a final resting place beside those of the parents of the deceased in the Sundance cemetery. -- Sundance Times.
