This land is adjacent to 300 acres on Little Saluda River that Jacob Berry received in 1762. I, Thomas Berry, Senr., being weak in body but sound and disposing mind and memory. I give unto my beloved wife Eunice Berry during her natural life or widowhood the plantation whereon I now live and all the stock, tools, furniture with four negroes viz: Sampson, Sarray, George and Fanney but should she marry again the above property to be taken out of her hands and sold at public sale and the money when it is collected to be put on interest for the use and support of my youngest set of children, and I desire that each child as they marry shall receive their equal share of the proceeds from the above named property. Should my wife marry again it is my will that she shall only have her bed & furniture and part of the cooking furniture as it now stand with two cows & calves and our horse, saddle & bridle. My youngest chn. are Polley Berry, Lilly Elender Walton Berry, Frances Leviucy Susanna Berry and Sarah Berry & Sivil Berry and Hacruto Berry. I also give to my four oldest dtrs. Nancey, Margaret White, Jancey Cole, Ruth Morrow & Susannah Davis three negroes named, William, Prissilla & Bet to be equally divided between them. I give unto my sons Thomas Young Berry $3 as I have given to him before. I give to my son Samuel Berry $3 as I have given to him before. It explicitly lists the children by his second wife (called "youngest chn."). It also lists his older daughters and sons. In the 1790 census, he has 2 sons and 1 daughter. In 1800, 3 sons and 2 daughters are shown.
