at some stage she was taken to germany to live with an aunt
she returned and then just prior to the 2nd world war had to prove that she was of english birth and not an alien and that she had not denounce in any way england while she was living in germany.there are letters which excists between her and the govenment it was noted that she had been taken to germany by her father while she was a young girl and there fore this had not been her choice. although it took some time she was eventurly accepted as havind a dueal nationality of english birth with a german father and english mother.
