a. Note:   Andrew was possibly born around Belfast. They apparently lived in New York when Carrie was born and this coincides with them not being listed in the 1900 Census in Philadelphia. In 1910 they lived at 1304 Morris St., Ascension Parish, Philadelphia. The family also reportedly lived on Baltimore Pike, Lansdowne, PA, Tthey are listed in the PA census for 1920. Andrew's occupation was tile setter in this census. After 1920 they moved to 3413 Winchester Ave. in Atlantic City. Later he was a contractor. In Atlantic City there is a Wilson Ave. where he built houses. He would not "play ball" with racketeer Nooky Johnson so his business deteriorated. His sister, Katie, owned a fishery in Sea Isle City, NJ.
  Ellis Island records show him traveling from the UK on 4/3/1908 at age 38 accompanied by Andrew P. Jr., age 7 on the Umbria from Liverpool, England. On 8/18/1922 at age 52 he arrived in New York on board the Aquitania from Southampton, England. This manifest states he was naturalized in 1909 in Philadlphia. The Winchester Ave. address is given. On 8/17/1923 he sailed from Southampton again on the Aquitania; again the Winchester address is listed.
  A search of death certificates for Delaware, Chester and Philadelphia Counties turned up no record of Andrew's death in Feb., 1944. Possibly he died in Atlantic City and was brought to Delaware Co. for burial. His grave is section 52, ra.9, lot #33, grave 0 in Holy Cross Cemetery.
