 Myrtle Pauline Wicklund, 97, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2011. Myrtle was born on November 17, 1914 in Duluth, Minnesota. She was the youngest of the nine children of John and Caroline Gunderson. She attended Denfeld High School. Myrtle married Leslie Wicklund on December 1, 1934. She was employed by the Thorp family at Supervalu in West Duluth for 27 years. She was an excellent bridge player, enjoyed spending time in Florida and organized many family gatherings and picnics. She was a wonderful caregiver to her husband Les during his lengthy stay at Benedictine Health Center. Myrtle was a lifelong member of Zion...   Myrtle was born on November 17, 1914 in Duluth, Minnesota. She was the youngest of the nine children of John and Caroline Gunderson. She attended Denfeld High School.
 Myrtle married Leslie Wicklund on December 1, 1934. She was employed by the Thorp family at Supervalu in West Duluth for 27 years.
  She was an excellent bridge player, enjoyed spending time in Florida and organized many family gatherings and picnics. She was a wonderful caregiver to her husband Les during his lengthy stay at Benedictine Health Center. Myrtle was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln Park. She participated in Zion's Elizabeth Circle and Vikings Senior Club. She volunteered at St. Luke's hospital until she turned 90.
  Preceding Myrtle in death were her husband, Leslie Wicklund, parents, John and Caroline Gunderson, eight siblings and a son Gerald Wicklund.
  She is survived by her daughter, Janice Biga of Duluth, granddaughters Kay (Patrick Spott) Biga of Duluth, Tracy Biga (Duncan) MacLean of Kirkland, Washington, Dena (Ed) Hotchkiss of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Cara (Paul) Liebman of Dripping Springs, Texas , brother -in-law, Rod (Phyllis) Wicklund of Denver, Colorado. She is also survived by great grandchildren Emily, Hal and Leo Spott, Grace and Seth Hotchkiss, Paul MacLean and Hannah and Olivia Liebman.
 The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Benedictine Health Center and Pastor Jim Nelson and Pastor John Reppe from Zion Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church, 2431 W. 3rd St., Duluth, MN 55806
