  Susan first married David Holly and they had a daughter, Lila. After David died, Susan married John Smith and they had daughter Mary Polly Smith and a son Joseph Grafton Smith. Susan died two week after Joseph was born. Joseph Smith's uncle William Penn and his aunt Rebecca Sophronia Huey-Duncan took him in, raised and educated him as their own, but leaving him his family name of Smith. Martha Susan died in either Illinois or St Genevieve County, MO, where she lived. (Aunt Dora Duncan)
  Joseph's mother Martha Susan was married twice. Her first marriage was to David Holly. They had a daughter Delia Holly that also went to live with uncle William Duncan.
