I have in my notes, a Joseph Dunkin that married Rebecca Vandegriff, Sept. 06, 1799, I believe in Grainger Co., TN. I wrote down several marriages from that county but failed to put Grainger Co., by Joseph and Rebecca for some reason. If they married in Grainger Co., TN, Rebecca came from the Jacob and Sarah line. Jacob died in 1828 in Anderson Co., TN. His son Gilbert or Garret moved to Grainger Co., TN. I will have to look at my notes again. As far as I know there is no Pendleton Co. in NC. There is a Pendleton Dist. in SC. Jacob Vandegriff and Sarah came from NC to TN. Their son, Jacob, was born in Johnston Co. NC, I believe.
