  JNO. PIGG'S WILL:
 State of Tennessee
 County of Smith
 p316-p322. In the name of God amen, Jno. Pigg since of the county of Smith and State of Tennessee do make and ordain and declare this instrument which is written with my own hand, subscribed with my own name, to be my last will and testament, Revoking all others. It is my desire that all my debts should be first paid. I give to Polly Pigg my wife all the property that has fell to her by the death of her uncle Daniel, If she is not satisfied with that, my desire is that the said property shall be equally divided amongst all her children. Also, I desire that Adam, Henry, and Betty, should be taken into the Alabama and sold to the best advantage,I give and bequeath to my daughter Licetta Pigg one negro girl named Mary, with all her future increase, in on and to have and to hold forever with one bay mare that I bought of Isaac Walton's sale, also one feather bed, bed sets, two sheets, two blankets, two counterpanes that is white fringed, one bed coverlet with the rest of her clothing, all which she hath made herself, one saddle and bridle with what I have given her and may hereafter give to said Licetta. My negro boys Sam and Ben shall be equally divided between Gincey W Conger and Paulina Evans. I give to Gincy one bed and furniture which she both already hath in her possession, with I have heretofore given her. I give to Pelina one bed and furniture which she hath already, with that which I have heretofore given her, I give to John D Evans my grandson one hundred dollars to be left in the hands of my executors, to be put on interest to the best advantage, so the interest arising from it shall be to give him good and sufficient schooling, the balance that may be left shall be paid to him, the said John D Evans, when he arrives at the age of twenty one years. If John D Evans should die before he arrives to that age, the money so left shall be divided amongst all my children. I give to the heirs of James Terry deceased, my grandchidren, one dollar each with what I have already given to my daughter Elizabeth Terry. I give to my son Jno. Pigg thirty acres of land lying on the north side of Caney Fork adjoining Joshua Conger entry and the grant recorded, with what I have heretofore given him. I give to my daughter Frances Pigg, one bed, one saddle, one heifer, all which she hath in possession. Three negro boys given to Jincy and Pelina is to be a part of their legacy which I shall hereafter give to them so that is to make them equal with the rest. I give to George Pigg, my son, all my land whereupon I now live, all the improvements thereon with one feather bed, and bedstead, with two sheets, one white counterpane fringed, one blanket, one bed coverlet, the bed I now lie on, with what I have heretofore given him. My desire is that the rest of my property shall be sold and with the money arising from the sale of negroes shall be equally divided amongst all my children, except George Pigg, Namely John Pigg, Jincy Conger, Pelina, Lisetta, Julia, and Elviry Pigg. This the 12 November 1825.

 The last will and testament of John Pigg Senr decd. was produced and duly proven in open Court by the oath of Thomas Bayliff one witness and left open for further probate, and at February term of said Court 1826 said last Will and Testament was duly proven in open Court by the oath of Stephen Robinson, another subscribing witness thereto, and on motion ordered to be recorded. Attest Jonathan Pukett, Clerk, Recorded: 12 Apr 1826 .
  Inventory and acct. of sales of Jno. Pigg's estate the 12th December 1825. Also the amount of sale as sold on the 29th, 30th & 31st days of Dec 1825. Inventory: (long list of goods) Rendered Feb Term 1826. Recorded 12th April 1826.
