Reeves parents but there is a lot of dna matches that make me believe it's true. (Kevin McDaniel, kevindmcd@@yahoo.com, 9 Jan 2016) I agree with Kevin as Thomas in the two censuses below would been born about 1843 in Tennessee. Home in 1850: Hickman, Tennessee (1 Jun) Alfred Reeves, 41, TN, Farmer Parthenia Reeves, 42, NC James Reeves, 19, IL Williamson Reeves, 17, TN Jane Reeves, 14, TN William Reeves, 11, TN Frances Reeves, 10, TN Irwin Reeves, 8, TN *Thomas Reeves, 6, TN Catherine Reeves, 3, TN Home in 1860: District 3, Humphreys, Tennessee (1 Jun) William Reeves, 22, TN, Farmer Parthena Reeves, 50, NC Irvin Reeves, 17, TN **Thomas Reeves, 15, TN Catherine Reeves, 14, TN Let me tell you the situation. On an 1850 Clinton, IL census, a Thomas Reeves is listed who was born in 1831 Illinois living with the Ammons family. I'm not 100% sure but I think this is my Thomas F. Reeves. It is obvious, through looking at the hints ancestry gives for this census, and researching these hints, that the Julianna Ammons on this census father was a Reeves. Her death certificate that can be found on the Mo. death certificate website shows only her fathers surname Reeves. This same certificate says that she was born in TN like census and had acquired the illness from her stay in IL. Disregard the find a grave entry showing her grave in the Ammons cemetary in Germantown IL. This is obviously wrong if you research the 2 Find-A-Grave entries. The MO location is correct. Another user entered Julianna's (which is actually Julinia) birth location as Hickman, TN. As I earlier assumed, after seeing this census I am almost sure Alfred Reeves and Parthenia White are probably Thomas F's parents. One tree shows Alfred as being born in Hickman. I'm pretty sure all of them show him dying in Hickman. Suzie Reeves says she doesn't believe the parents wouldn't have left Thomas at an early age Illinois and moved back to TN. But may indicate that is exactly what they did. In this census Thomas is 19 and his, probable sister Julinia is 20. Why would he be with his almost same age sister and not his parents. Probably because they couldn't afford their children, these would have been their first, so they left them with relatives. Suzie then pointed out that they had another child with the name Thomas born around 10 years later. She said this is not probable. But for me it is possible. That younger Thomas was probably T. Jefferson. My Thomas is T.F. Who knows. Maybe they wanted to somewhat forget about the children they had to leave behind. The people that completed Julinia's death certificate didn't know her father's name or mother. Probably because she never spoke of them. I have numerous DNA matches with Parthenia's ancestors and Alfred's mother's ancestors. Shouldn't this be enough evidence that they were the parents so I can enter them on my tree with 90% confidence that no one will dispute? Or should we just never enter the parents, since there's probably no more evidence out there. (Kevin McDaniel, 18 Aug 2017 on Ancestry.com Message Board)
