a. Note:   Born on her parent's farm about 1/4th mile east of Eagle Creek, Clackamas, Oregon. Lucille graduated from Franklin High School in Portland and attended Oregon Agriculture College (OSU) in Corvallis, OR, when she met her future husband. She worked at The Oregonian newspaper for a few years after college. She was a member of Eastern Star Masonic womens organization.
  Wedding announcement, The Oregonian: Vanderpool - Duncan. One of the pretty brides of the season was Miss Ethel Lucille Duncan, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William H. Duncan, whose marriage to Cedric Roy Vanderpool, son of Mrs. Bertha Vanderpool, was an event of July 20 at a simple ceremony performed by Rev. Arthur T. Eaton at Laurelhurst Christian Church. Only immediate relatives witnessed the ceremony. The bride wore a sleeveless gown of white crepe with a head band of brilliants. She carried an arm bouquet of blue delphiniums and shell pink gladioil. Miss Beverly Iwan was her only attendant. Lotus Conser served as best man. Mrs. Marie Hursey, cousin of the bride, presided at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Duncan, 545 East Thirty-fifth street. The bride is a former student at Oregon State College. Mr Vanderpool, a graduate of the Oregon State College, is a member of Psi Chi Fraternity. Mr. and Mrs. Vanderpool will be at home to their friends after August 1, at the Counselor apartments.
  Social page article, The Oregonian: A social event of large interest to many friends was the marriage of Miss Ethel Lucille Duncan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duncan, to Mr. Cedric R. Vanderpool, last Saturday evening. There were one hundred guests at the wedding reception held in the evening.
