The deceased was a daughter of Elijah and Julia Ann Parrish and was born in Galen, October 24th, 1830. She was married to Anson Hurlburt on March 31st, 1858, and their home was made in Sodus for a period of two years, after which they removed to Galen and have since resided here. Two children were born to them, Wellis M. Hurlburt and Mrs. Fred Cook, both residence of Galen, who with their father survive the deceased. She was a woman of rare devotion and was most highly esteemed for her kindly traits and loving disposition which makes her loss the more keenly felt. Her illness was of brief duration, being stricken at 5:30 o'clock last Wednesday morning with apoplexy, a second stroke followed a few hours later and on Friday she passed away. Funeral services which were largely attended were held from the late residence at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. David Keppel officiating.
