Note: Solomon went to France from England to marry Mary. They then imigrated to the USA to Maryland and then moved to New York. The information I have on the Parrish Family is from notes dictated by Ruth Simpson Haley to her nephew Richard Simpson. Soloman Parish married Mary Smith prob in 1780's. Solomon and his wife, Mary, came from France in mid to latter 1700's. They settled in Maryland. When son, Elias, was still a baby they moved by horseback to Phelps Twp., Ontario Co, NY state via the compass. Knowlton and Gilbert Parish were possibly brothers of Solomon. I have been to the graves of John Parish (Solomon's grandson) who is our Civil War hero as well as Elias Parish's gravesite. Resting Place: Port Creek Cemetary in Monroe Co, MI. Seems like my dad once told me that Elias married Elizabeth Vandervoort and his brother Ezra also married a Vandervoort - sister of Elizabeth. (Anne Ulrey, annieu2@@comcast.net, 9 Oct 2007) (The VanDerVort sister that married Ezra was Harriet) What I have on Soloman is he was Born abt 1768 Baltimore,MD and died NY maybe 1834, or between 1840-1851 or about 1868. I have done alot of searching in the Wayne co. and Ontario co. and have not been able to come up with and thing more and think that search in MI for him maybe the place. As for his wife I've seen as Mary and Polly born abt 1775 MD and died bef 1868. They had possibly 7 children and Aquila MI, Jerimina NY, Elias MI, Elijah NY, Edward MI, Ezra NY & MI and Ezra had 9 children also married Lydia Ann Joshson and had 5 more children. (rmaustin2, 23 Feb 2012) Aunt Ruth's notes had Ezra's 2nd wife as a Lundy. 1810 United States Federal Census: Name: Sol Parrish Home in 1810 (City, County, State): Phelps, Ontario, New York Free White Persons - Males - Under 10: 4 Free White Persons - Males - 10 thru 15: 1 Free White Persons - Males - 16 thru 25: 1 Free White Persons - Males - 26 thru 44 : 1 Free White Persons - Females - Under 10: 1 Free White Persons - Females - 10 thru 15: 1 Free White Persons - Females - 26 thru 44: 1 Number of Household Members Under 16: 7 Number of Household Members Over 25: 2 Number of Household Members: 10 Some sources say Solomon and Mary had 12 children, and that his parents were: Richard Parish, 1740 - 1816, and Sarah Isreal, b 1750. http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/17189179/person/5054623364 I saw your post regarding Solomon Parrish. He was not the son of Richard Parrish and Sarah Israel, but his wife was!. Mary Polly Parrish, daughter of Richard and Sarah, married Solomon Parrish, son of John, on 4 Feb 1794 in First German Evangilical Church, Frederick, Frederick Co, Maryland. Solomon was born about 1768 in Baltimore, line is still unknown. But, you are definitely descended from Richard & Sarah through their daughter Mary Polly Parrish! Mary married (1) Solomon PARRISH, son of John PARRISH on 4 Feb 1794 in 1st German Evan., Frederick, Frederick Co., MD. Solomon was born 1768 in Baltimore, MD. was buried in NY. Here is what I have: Solomon Parrish settled in Phelps on a tract of land adjoining William Davis on Maryland Street Road just south of Gifford Road. [16] He was over 6 feet tall and weighed nearly 400 pounds. He had a large family and they were all large, even the girls 6' tall. [12] Index of estate inventories now in archives of Ontario Co.
