A copy of a letter I have from the Swiss Civil Registry office, dated 23 Oct 1967, to Clara Hoffman lists Gottlieb Christian Hertig, date of birth 19 Oct 1869.
Uncle John's death certificate states he was 50 years, 1 month and 29 days old at his death. He was a section foreman for the railroad and died of Lepts Meningitis with influenza contributing to his death. Pat Hertig was the Informant on the DC. So he evidently remained section foreman the rest of his life. (In a letter dated 15 May 1975, Clara Hoffman)
