Under the direction of Daken Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, Idaho My dad recalls a story about his mother's sister, Emma, who lived near them in Idaho: "One time a Basque sheep herder was driving his sheep right toward her garden and giving her the "no sabe" routine. She put a 30-30 rifle bullet right past his ear and he began shouting "me sabe" in a hurry. He got his sheep as far away from her and her garden as fast as he could. Another time a suitor came to call on her, swishing a willow switch in his hand. We had a dog that defiantly did not like sticks and in about 2 seconds the suitor was on top of the gate post, hollering "Emma, call off your dog." Needless to say, that broke up a beautiful romance."
