  Hello Randolph Researchers:
I knew to this particular list, but am looking for anyone else who
knows anything about or who is searching for information about
Ahijah High Lax (1796-1842) and his wife, Elizabeth Lewellyn
(1800-1866). I believe he was the son of William Lax of
Randolph County and she the daughter of Jonathan Lewellyn.
My information states that she was born in Buckingham County,
VA., but the family moved to NC where she married Lax
in 1820. Their last know residence was in Davidson County
and I think they were closely related to the WADE family.
The WADE family may also have relations among Native
 Americans.
In 1833, Ahijah and Elizabeth moved from NC to West
Tennessee to Henry County. Relatives Seth Wade and
Robert Allen Wade had already moved to the county. My
line of Wade are also related to the Callicott family. Some
relatives also spell their name LACKS, LACK, and even
LAKES or LAKE in central Kentucky.
If anyone knows anything, I would be grateful. If you'd like
to EMail me privately, my address is [email protected]@AOL.COM
  Darrell
