 Gordon V. Brown Sr., faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, died following a brief illness.
  He was survived by his wife, Margaret C. Brown; daughter and son-in-law, his three sons and daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown was also survived by his brother and wife and by his sister. Mr. Brown was pre-deceased by his parents, Gordon and Eugenia G. Brown, by his brother, Meredith Brown, and by his stepson, Jimmy Martin.
  Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A graduate of the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, he retired after 46 years in the Shipyard. He was a Deacon at North Riverside Baptist Church and an active member of the Wythe Exchange Club. Hunting and fishing with his friends was a great joy to him in later years.
