Notes
a. Note:   ist Church, where most of the Pattersons and Wilsons are buried, matches the known age of Mary M Patterson from the 1850 census record. The Patterson family was very close knit and all of Archibald and Clarkie's children remained in Upper Little River after marrying and leaving home. In the 1870 census, the first census in which Mary M Patterson is away from home, Neill and Mary M Wilson are found living directly next door to Archibald and Clarkie. Mary M Patterson's brother Sherwood and his family live in the next house after Neill and Mary. There are no other "Mary M's" in the Upper Little River area in the 1870 census and the other Marys of similar age in the area have been ruled out.
Note:   Based on my current research, it seems very likely that the Mary M who was the wife of Neill A Wilson was his first cousin, Mary M Patterson. The age on Mary M Wilson's tombstone at Holly Springs Bapt
