  Susanna Parham was born about 1778 in Virginia, the eldest of 2 known surviving children (1 boy/1 girl) born to Thomas Parham and his wife, Elizabeth Gilliam. Her father died when she was about 5 years old, and her mother married (2nd) James Banks, by whom 5 more children were born.
  Susan married John Thomas Leach II in the early 1800's and farmed in the Cleveland Township-Pleasant Grove area of Johnston County where they became parents to 2 known children (1 boy/1 girl): Dr. James Thomas Leach, III (1805-1883), and Susan Parham Leach (c. 1810-1886).
  She was widowed in 1837 when her husband passed at about age 59. She passed less than 2 years later at about age 60.
