In case you don't know the Myricks came from Wales and the history/crest is all in the above mentioned book.

Message Board:"I descend from Thomas W. Shearin (b. 1816) and Susan D. Myrick (b. 1832)..daughter of Raleigh Myrick Jr. According to their marriage records....their bond was taken out on 13 Dec 1848....but the marriage was not executed until 15 Dec 1858. I'm wondering if this was a mistake, missprint, or typo. My reason for finding this out is that my Great Great Grandmother, Mary Eliza Shearin, was born in 1851. Some Shearin and Reid (Mary Eliza married John Perry Reid in 1876) researchers state that Thomas and Susan were indeed married in 1858 and that Mary Eliza was an illigitemate daughter by Susan Myrick and an Ira Edgerton. They state that he provides for her in his will....but I have not been given any proof of an Ira Edgerton or his will. I cannot find Thomas and Susan in 1850....not an Ira Edgerton in any Census. Is there anyone out there that could help with this delima. Thanks...."******************************************
