Julian Lee Wilson, 82, of Aberdeen, passed Friday, March 12, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Wilson was born Oct. 21, 1927, in Moore County, to the late William Thomas Wilson and Grace Cheatham Wilson.
Mr. Wilson served in the National Guard. He loved to play piano and harmonica, and enjoyed pitching horseshoes. He was an avid gardener and Carolina Tar Heels fan. He spent his time building and repairing things around the home. Mr. Wilson enjoyed fishing with his wife of 53 years, Mildred Riley Wilson, until her passing in 2007.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, T.H. Wilson and Herbert Wilson; and a sister, Vivian Smith.
Mr. Wilson is survived by three sons, John Lee Wilson and wife, Kelly Renee, of Vass,. James William Wilson and wife, Robin, of Hoke County, David Stewart Wilson and wife, Carol, of Fayetteville; a daughter, Sheree Suzanne Richardson, of Aberdeen; a stepson, Gary Eugene Wright and wife, Aluta, of Calabash, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Anna Lucille Marshall and husband, Edward, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Gloria Vivian VerHey and husband, Kenneth, of Holden Beach, Cathy Darlene Harper and husband, Denzil, of Aberdeen; a sister, Algene Swann and husband, Richard, of Lakeland, Fla.; 29 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren.
