  R.D. Jenkins is Claimed by Death

  Demise Follows Stroke of Paralysis
 Suffered Near Noon Yesterday

  R.D. Jenkins, 49, of 812 Pennsylvania avenue, died in a local hospital at 9 o'clock last night. Death following a stroke of paralysis at 12:30 p.m. yesterday, while he sat talking with his wilfe in the living room of their home.
 Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, the former Mary Smith, of Abingdon, and two sons, William and Edward.
 He was born near Gate City, Va., and was formerly the manager of the Abingdon grocery company. He has been a resident of Bristol for 15 years, conducting his own brokerage business.
 Four years ago Mr. Jenkins was critically injured in an automobile wreck on the Bluff City pike. He almost miraculously survived his injuries, and was able to resume his brokerage work about two years ago.
 The deceased was a member of Reynolds Memorial Methodist church.
 Funeral services, arrangements for which have not been fully completed, will be held at the home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
