Text:   DEATH OF A RESIDENT. A feeling of deep regret was ex-
 perienced by the residents of Maple-
 ton when news was received of the
 death of Mrs. E.. H. Jeffs. Last Wed-
 nesday the lady was removed to a Bris-
 bane hospital in a very low state of
 health, and, although reports seemed
 to indicate a possibility of recovery,
 the end came on Sunday, June 1st.
 Mrs. Jeffs resided in Mapleton for over
 14 years and during that period was
 held in the highest esteem and respect-
 ed by the community. The deceased
 lady is survived by a husband and
 nine children, two girls and seven
 boys, the youngest of whom is but
 a few days old.The interment took
 place at the Nambour Cemetery on
 Tuesday, the funeral, which was large-
 ly attended by Mapleton people, leav-
 ing the station after the arrival of the
 morning train.
