Text: ROSEWOOD, April 6.- The death occurred at Rosewood on March 31 of a well-known and highly-respected resident of the district, Mrs. Bridget O'Shea. wife of Mr. James O'Shea. Matthew- -street, Rosewood. The late Mrs. O'Shea, who was 77 years of age, enjoyed comparatively good health until recently. In the hope of recuperating from a short ill- ness, she was staying with her elder daughter, Mrs. M. J. Carmody, in Albert-street, Rosewood, when she passed away rather sud- denly. Mrs. O'Shea was a native of Ipswich. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. William Slack. of Thagoona. In her early life, as a tailoress, she was employed for a number of years at leading city tailoring establishments. After her marriage, Mrs. O'Shea lived at Rosewood. then at Walloon, where she and her husband conducted an hotel. Subsequently the family made their home at Rosewood, where for many years Mrs. O'Shea's husband was actively connected with the cattle industry, and later was engaged in road contracts. The late Mrs. O'Shea was of a retiring disposition. She is survived by her husband, Mr. James O'Shea, and family of slx--Mrs. M. J. Carmody and Miss Malie O'Shea, Messrs. Michael and William O'Shea (Rosewood), Mr. Thomas O'Shea (Blenheim), and Mr. James O'Shea, who is serving with the Australian forces. There are 10 grandchildren, the eldest, Warrant Officer James Carmody, being at- tached to the R.A.A.F. Mes- dames J. Hickey and A. Kavanagh (Brisbane). and Miss M. Slack (Thagoona) are sisters of the late Mrs. O'Shea, and Messrs. William Slack (Thagoona), and Fred Slack (Brisbane) are her brothers. A sister, Mrs. John O'Shea (Ipswich), died some years ago. On Thursday morning Mass was celebrated in St. Brigid's Church, Rosewood, for the late Mrs. O'Shea, and the Rosary was recited by a large conger- gation before the funeral left for the Ipswich Cemetery. Convent school children formed a guard of honour as the funeral moved from the church. Rev. Father O'Rourke officiated at the Mass and the funeral.
