Text:   CLIFTON: The death occurred in Horwitz Ward, Warwick Gen-
 eral Hospital, on August 7, of a
 well known identity of the Clif-
 ton district in the person of Mr.
 William Hart, of ''Ravensdale,"
 Headlngton Hill.
 The late Mr Hart was a native
 of England, and was bom at
 Hawden, (Yorkshire) in 1865 being
 thus 84 years of age at the time of
 his death. When 23 years of age
 he came to Australia, and shortly
 after his arrival in Queensland
 entered upon work at Canning
 Downs. Later he was engaged in
 farming activities on the Downs
 until he came to the Headington
 Hill district in 1913, where he car-
 ried out agricultural pursuits for
 many years. For many years he
 was closely associated with the
 breeding of Clydesdale horses. He
 was also a lover of poultry, and
 possessed many splendid birds
 with which he won many prizes in
 shows in a number of places. He
 look a keen interest in various
 branches of sport, particularly
 tennis and cricket. His quiet un-
 assuming nature won him the high
 esteem and respect of a large
 number of friends and acquaint-
 ances, and widespread regret has
 been occasioned by his death.
 His wife predeceased him by
 several years. He is survived by two
 daughters. Mrs E. Morrlssey (Yah-
 gan) and Mrs M. Handley (Lock-
 yer district), six sons, Messrs,
 George, William (Jondaryan),
 Norman, Robert, Arthur and Anley
 Hart of Clifton, also 14 grand-
 children. The funeral of the late
 Mr Hart moved from St. Mark's
 Church of England, Warwick, to
 the Warwick cemetery. Rev. .W.
 Hoog, St. Mark's Church, War-
 wick officiated at the church and
 the graveside.
