In 1850 Jacob Morey, age 39 a carpenter, was living in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., Northampton County, PA, with his second wife, Mary Morey age 34, and one child: - Adam Morey, age 3 Jacob owned real estate valued at $1,000. (1850 census, microfilm roll 803, house #233) In 1870 Jacob T. Morey, age 58, was a farmer in Upper Mount Bethel Twp. with real estate valued at $2,500 and personal property of $500. He was living with his second wife, Mary A. Morey age 52, and two children: - Catharine F. Morey, age 17 - Mary E. Mory, age 15 Son Benjamin had already left home. (1870 census, microfilm roll 1383, pg. 412, house #101) In 1880 Jacob Morey, age 68, and his second wife, Mary A. Morey age 63, were still living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. He was listed as a farmer. Mary's father was born in France and her mother in Wittenburg, Germany. (1880 census, National Archives Film T9-1163, Page 403A, house #7) In 1890 Jacob and Mary Morey were still living in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. On 29 January 1898 Jacob wrote a will in which he directed that he be buried in the German Reformed cemetery at Stone Church. He bequeathed his wife, Mary Ann, all of his property and household goods plus the use and income from dwelling houses and land in Upper Mt. Bethel and a house and lot on College Hill in Easton, PA. After her death the remaining estate was bequeathed to his children; Catharine Sterner, Ellen Felker and B. F. Morey. Jacob's memorial on Findagrave incorrectly shows that he was a son of Jacob and Elizabeth Mory. He was actually a son of Tobias and Anna Margaret (Weidman) Morey. Jacob and Elizabeth (Buchecker) Morey were Jacob's grandparents.)
