a. Note:   Jacob Johnson's obituary appeared in the "Argus" newspaper of Easton, PA. Jacob wrote a will on 1 November 1866. He bequeathed one third of his estate plus $300 to his wife, Elizabeth, and $200 to grand-daughter, Ann Miller. He bequeathed 1/8 share of the remaining estate to each of his surviving six sons and two daughters; Sarah Bartow, John Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Philip Johnson, William Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Wilson Johnson, and Rebecca Gum. The executors were sons Jacob and Jesse Johnson. His will was proved 18 December 1866. (Estate file #7869, will book 8, pg. 67, Northampton County Government Center, Easton, PA)
